February 14 is Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the season of Lent, during which we symbolically prepare for the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Christians traditionally observe Ash Wednesday by wearing an ashen cross on their foreheads or right hands, symbolizing our need for God’s grace. Not only does the cross inform others that we place our faith in Christ; it also invites conversations of faith into our daily routines. You are invited to come, worship and participate. Imposition of ashes will happen on Wednesday, February 14 at 8:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 5:00 PM in the Chapel.
Ash Wednesday Kits
Families are encouraged to pick up an Ash Wednesday kit to help them create an Ash Wednesday service at home. These kits are designed for families with children or youth and can be picked up in the Welcome Center.
Lenten Resources for Families
Lenten activity packets are available for families in the Nursery and Welcome Center. The packets include activities and devotions that you can use at home with your family during the season of Lent. There are packets for both older and younger children. We hope that these resources will provide a meaningful and sacred experience for your family!
